A JOURNEY TO ISLAM

The Beginning of The Aūra.

The concept of The Aūra resonates with me deeply, as I know it will do for many. It began when my journey to Islam began, in 2020. As a new revert at 18 years old I had little knowledge about modesty, the concept, the beauty of it, but it was something I was excited to discover. My quirky and out of the crowd sense of fashion was something I held onto as a form of identity prior to becoming Muslim and I was now trying to navigate the modesty world and find my place in it. In that time, not only did I discover a new part of me, that values herself through modesty, but I also realised my love for fashion and the unique parts of my personality can still shine through whilst being modest and trying my best to please Allah.

Modesty doesn't have to be the diminishment of your uniqueness. It can very much be the thing that lights that flame. Being okay with being unique is a superpower and I want every woman to be able to feel that level of confidence within themselves.

Clothing, Textiles & Fashion have been passions of mine since a very young age. The textiles world is something I resonate with and know well, Alhamdullilah. Learning to sew from the age of 5, it quickly became a hobby and I carried it with me for years; even going onto achieve the top 1% grades in the country for my textiles project at the age of 16. To this day I still enjoy making my own clothes for events, weddings and occasions.

Two journeys I've been lucky enough to be a part of; Islam and developing a lifelong skill - come together as you see today as The Aūra. I thank Allah for blessing me with the opportunity to bring my dream to life.

I hope you ladies love it just as much as I do. The Aūra means more to me than just clothing, it's a tribute to my journey finding Islam and a reminder of the beautiful transformation Allah has brought me on.

Love, Nur Ul-Ain x
